“We stumbled upon this White Fir in a small gully among Coal Creek Canyon, with a small trickling stream even late in the fall. Every species of tree in this magical spring was large compared to the forest around it. However, I’ve only ever heard of this species growing in our canyons. Until now I haven’t ever encountered one so happy and healthy in our environment. The trunk was so big around that I couldn’t wrap my arms around it! Truly a gem of a tree hiding in our backyards…” -Adam Makela
