I want to let you know about my experiences with Good People Tree Service as well as Xcel and United Power. I have a small place in Gilpin and a small place in Ned. Both needed tree work lately. In Gilpin there were several dead trees close to the high voltage lines. United Power and Good People came quickly and in a couple of days they took out the dead trees and some other questionable ones. No charge. Then very sadly at the Ned house, 4 giant trees were leaning badly after the really high winds a few weeks ago. They were the biggest and oldest trees in Ned, over 200 years old 3 of them, older than the town, 40 inches across and 80-100 feet high. 2 of them were going to hit the transformer and power feed to the B&F parking lot and could have started a fire or killed someone. I called Xcel 4 times to go look at it. They kept saying “you’re on the list.” One time they were quite rude. I told them it could be very serious but they didn’t seem interested. Anyway I decided to fork out the cash to pay Good People directly since to me and them this was quite a serious matter. Eric and I didn’t want to take the magnificent trees down but with risk of power outage, fire or death something had to be done. We were hugging the trees and I don’t know if he was crying but I was. He’s known these trees all his life. They came with a giant crane at 9am, Eric Kennedy and the crew were there all day. Eric swung over to the top of the tree, secured the top with straps, then climbed down about 16ft and cut the top. The top swung to the parking lot and the crew put the branches in the chipper and the log on one of the 2 heavy duty trailers. Then they repeated the process for 6 hours. Eric was risking his life on the crane and 80+ feet up a leaning tree and logs swinging that weigh thousands of lbs. If anything went wrong he could have been killed. This is not easy work. They did the job and cleaned up with no harm or damage. I’ve seen a lot of businesses in operation and these Good People Tree Service folks are absolutely brilliant at what they do. I can’t recommend them enough. It cost some money but absolutely good value based on the situation and the risk they take. It’s great we have such amazing folks up here.

-I wanted to write this email as a recommendation for your company based on the current job you guys just finished and the crane work last year.
This current job was done on a daily pay-rate. I couldn’t be more happy! The crew led by Vitek, with Spencer and Zach worked harder than a crew twice its size and under some questionable weather conditions. They exceeded my expectations and completed more work than we originally discussed.
The areas cleaned up and thinned look better than a State Park! The entire crew is polite, respectful and knowledgeable. They actually care for the forest and its trees and the beings in it. They were on time, and worked tirelessly. The crane work was dangerous, but you navigated it safely, and removed numerous unsafe trees for our Campers.
I’ve dealt with several local crews here on our 80 acre facility. I wouldn’t hire anyone else. You have my complete trust.

Yesterday was a really interesting day for me in Pinecliffe, and I can’t really explain why it was emotional. Of course losing the trees was very sad, but they sure were dead and needed to go. Your crew was so great and personable as we were waiting for the flaggers. The crane showed up exactly at 8 am and the other guys soon after. And once they got started, there was no stopping them. So professional and talented. I was fearful that someone would get hurt but my fears were quickly put to rest—Eric, the crane operator, and all the other guys chopping and moving the huge pieces of wood. Wow, I can’t say enough and just wanted to say thank you. I love the video that Eric took—I copied it so I’ll always have it. Quite unbelievable how high he was. He clearly loves his job.
