Our Local Partners & Projects in Colorado’s Peak to Peak Region
At Good People Tree Service, we’re not just your neighborhood tree experts. We’re a trusted partner on some of the most important land stewardship and vegetation management projects throughout Colorado’s Peak to Peak region, Boulder County, and surrounding communities.
Our crews are proud to be the go-to tree service for homeowners, municipalities, utility companies, and construction firms alike. Whether it’s fire mitigation in remote mountain communities or large-scale utility line clearance, we bring deep expertise, a safety-first mindset, and an unwavering commitment to the health of Colorado’s landscapes.
Here’s a look at the partners who trust us, and the important work we’re doing together.
Utility Line Clearance for United Power
We are proud to hold a yearly contract with United Power, providing essential utility line clearance services in Colorado’s mountain region. This work plays a critical role in preventing power outages and reducing wildfire risk near electrical infrastructure, particularly important in densely forested and high-elevation zones of the Peak to Peak region.
Our team is trained to work around energized lines, navigate difficult terrain, and clear trees and brush efficiently while minimizing environmental impact. This contract is a testament to our safety protocols, reliability, and the trust we’ve earned with utility providers.
City of Black Hawk: On-Call Tree Services
Our partnership with the City of Black Hawk involves a yearly contract to provide on-call tree services, especially focused on fire mitigation and beetle kill removal. We understand how vital proactive vegetation management is in this wildland-urban interface.
Whether it’s responding after a windstorm or working ahead of peak fire season, our crews are on standby to help the city maintain public safety, clear hazardous trees, and manage infestations before they become widespread.
Fire Mitigation Leadership with Wildfire Partners
As of 2024, Good People Tree Service is the most utilized tree care provider working with Wildfire Partners in Boulder County. Through this program, we help homeowners navigate wildfire mitigation assessments and implement defensible space recommendations — a critical step in protecting homes in at-risk communities.
Wildfire Partners typically covers a portion of the cost of fire mitigation, while homeowners cover the rest — and in low-income cases, WFP covers the full cost. Our trusted status within this program speaks to our experience, attention to detail, and respectful, educational approach with every homeowner we serve.
Construction & Land Clearing: CDOT & More
We work extensively with leading construction firms on land clearance and pre-build site work, including: McKinstry, Harris-Dewart, AP Construction, Zak Dirt, Kozar Construction
From tree removals prior to infrastructure projects to large-scale land clearing for new builds, our crews are equipped with the tools and knowledge to work in tandem with heavy construction timelines.
Notably, we were subcontracted by Zak Dirt to complete tree removal and vegetation management for a Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) highway expansion project. This complex project required precision removals, coordination across agencies, and careful execution near active roadways — all delivered safely and on schedule.
Property Management & HOA Tree Care
We are proud to provide ongoing and on-call tree services to a variety of property management companies and HOAs throughout the region, including Colorado Realty and Property Management, Four Star Realty and Property Management, KPK Realty, Sequoia Montrachet Apartment Homes, Missouri Lakes HOA, Pinecliffe HOA.
Our services range from hazard tree removals and pruning to beetle kill removal and fire mitigation across entire residential communities. These long-term relationships reflect our responsiveness, professionalism, and the consistent quality of our work.
Boulder Watershed Collective Projects
We’ve also partnered with the Boulder Watershed Collective (BWC) on a number of fire mitigation and forest health projects. These efforts often involve strategic thinning, invasive species removal, and defensible space creation across watershed-critical areas that support long-term ecological resilience and water quality protection.
Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks
Our team has conducted large-scale invasive species and hazard tree removals along public trails in partnership with Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks. This work ensures safe access for trail users while promoting healthy native forest systems in one of Colorado’s most visited natural areas.
Deep Roots in Colorado’s Mountain Communities
What all these projects have in common is a need for dependable, skilled tree experts who understand Colorado’s unique ecosystems, regulations, and community values. That’s where we come in.
We know the Peak to Peak region like the back of our gloves. We live here, we work here, and we’re invested in protecting the people, places, and forests that make this part of the state so special.
